Gregory This is a great album. Rob Zombie once said, "Every cool riff has already been written by Black Sabbath." I think Dave Gilbert proves that this is not true. This album has some seriously good riifs that hook in the listener, and I really enjoyed the lyrics, especially the 3 part conceptual piece "In A Fractured Land". Favorite track: In A Fractured Land - Pt. III - Beauty Or The Beast?.

pez123 Calling all fans of Doom, Sabbath, metal and Prog-ish rock, get yourselves a copy of this CD ASAP you wont regret it, it's hard to grasp that this is a self financed project the level of detail is amazing, Songs, production, packaging a lot of mainstream bands could learn a lesson or two, product over profit is what we have here, My favourite tracks so far – “Seeds of Doom, The Misery Show” and part 3 of the trilogy “Beauty or the Beast” well done Dark Matter……….all both of you !!

Loke Sjöberg I like Doom metal that upholds the proud traditional sound but isn't afraid to add their own twist on it/experimenting a bit to make it less generic.

Album keep things interesting in terms of unexpected elements of psy / prog rockin bits alongside the doom which made the listen interesting and enjoyable from start to finish.

An excellent record and a worthy addition to the discography. Creds!! Favorite track: Deafened By Silence.

Seeds Of Doom, The Misery Show If you believe in Adam and Eve, that's fine, 'cos that's the truth for you. In the grand scheme, 'twas a travesty. The time had come to sow the seeds of doom. The seeds of doom. The seal of love. The celebration of man. The fruits of life. God given trust. They all become the damned. Recreation of generations, with a fascination for love and hate. The realisation that man's legislation, is the manifestation of misery. It's our fate. The seeds of doom. The seal of love. The celebration of man. Fruits of life. God given trust. They all become the damned. It's the misery show, come on, be happy. You're all in the cast, don't turn so cold. A really strange show, you're the perfect actor. We've all played the parts and the leading role. Do you care or only when your lifestyle is affected? 'Cos everybody wants it all and more besides. The misery show is a timeless humanised tradition. The laughter, fun and doom will never die. Until our lives run dry. When all violence will subside. No more tears to cry. Broken dreams from troubled skies. It's the misery show. It's the misery show. Seeds of doom.

Stagefright (The Game) Everywhere I look, I see the fools who play the game. Searching for an answer, to cover up their shame. Actors in a dream world, ignoring all the signs. Following the rainbow, to leave it all behind. Looking for the answers, but never thinking why. Everything is based upon the never ending lies. Nursery rhymes and fairy tales, are great when you're a child. But words from ancient scriptures, just poison empty minds. Stagefright. Stagefright. Stagefright. Stagefright. Stagefright... Stagefright. It's always the same. Stagefright. We play the game. Craving recognition for something of no use. Hanging on to yesterdays. Traditions are the truth. Climbing pure white ladders, stairways in the sky. The only hope for tired minds, who whittle away their lives. Written by Dave Gilbert.

Deafened By Silence Voices in my head. It's what they said. Always on my mind. Left the sun behind. They're always here. One step from tears. Been there a while. Took away my smile. Driving me wild. Stole my inner child. These voices in my head. Voices in my head. It's what they said. Put me to the test. Never let me rest. Running me round and around. 'Til no sanity is found. Making me believe. Dreams are reality. They're all I hear. Driven by my fear. These voices in my head. Taken From A Poem, Written By Alistair Bru Stewart. Rearranged by Dave Gilbert.

In A Fractured Land... Part One - The Silver Moon (Take Solace) Wandering aimlessly through life. Never thinking, never feeling anything about the world you live in. Sunset falling to the west. Burning fireball depicts another day's regret. The hanging tree's stageset. The silver moon gives hope to weary lives. Shattered bodies. Fading images of yesterday, as the pain fades away. Mindless existance, the curse of man. Watching helplessly. Turning a blind eye, so you can't see this human tragedy. Believing everything you're told. Deep set traditions. A paralysis of the weak as the greed claims the meek. Confusion reigns as world's collide. Shocked in silence. Man has chose to manifest a hatred he repressed. Wasted life. False prophecies. Years of endless pain. Hand me downs of bitterness, driving you insane. Battered souls drink the wine, drowned in self abuse. Organised religions, selling you their truth. Let's look to the silver moon, to save us from the gloom. Let's look to the silver moon. Let's look to the silver moon. Programmed minds can't see the signs. Focused but so cold. Lost in work, lost in space. Selling off their souls. Atrocities at tea time. Just images of doom? Chemical destruction. Mother nature's tomb. Let's look...

In A Fractured Land... Part Two - Paradise Common (Recharge And Reflect) Walking through the heathers. Taking in each season. Breathing in the prophecies of my safe world. Mother earth is talking. I listen to her intently. So at ease with everything I see. Springtime has finally come. Coconut fills the air. I watch the hairstreaks dancing round the yellow. Heaven is here for me. My escape to reality. Recharging my mind again and again and again. The sounds come easy. The colours are painted here. The words are flowing through my veins. This is my home. She's the oldest friend I know. Her warmth is comforting me again. The sun soothes my body. The warm breeze reassures. Paradise in a room without the walls. The power of mother nature, driving out the waste. Clawing back her children as the fools try to escape. The sounds...

In A Fractured Land... Part Three - Beauty Or The Beast? (Find Strength, Ask Questions) Crows and demons, beauty or the beast? Raging fury, what do you see? Empires of humanoids, disengaged from love. Hanging on to their saviour from the heavens above. Fads and fashions, endless scenes. Moving furniture just to breathe. Mindless indulgence, timeless greed. Wasted sunsets, nothing achieved. Within every niche, there are corridors of activity. Thriving and sustaining life in other worlds. Look into the mind's eye, of a microcosm universe. Slick machines, running in perfect harmony. So what do you see? Fiction or reality? So what do you see? Is it beauty or the beast? Beauty or the beast. Can you see the beauty in our mother earth? Have you looked or do you pass her by? Can you see colours of her painted eyes? The more you look, her tears will surely dry. Wolves and hell hounds, how sly is a fox? Man crazed paranoia, controlled within a box. Angels and devils, white or black? Crimes committed, never looking back. Written By Dave Gilbert.
